I am leaving this here because I am hoping it will not get lost in the rest of the comments on your recent entry. My blog is a fat acceptance blog and fat acceptance has its own struggles with diversity adn the inclusion of voices. I’d like to think that we are addressing those a bit more successfully than what went down in the feminist blog realm. I’ve considered myself a feminist for a long time and after watching all of it, I’m almost ready to reject the label myself.

And I especially appreciate what you have to say about the process of getting a book deal – there is a huge component of luck and saying “just do it” is about the least helpful thing ever.

Mostly, I just want to say that if you ever feel the need for a platform to speak to a group of women and men who are diverse in all sorts of ways, my blog is open to you. If you ever want to say anything even remotely related to body politics, drop me a line. Because I think you have amazing things to say and I would hate for that disappear.

    Hi BFP!

I’ve read so much about you the past few weeks! I also recently had the good fortune to encounter a cached blog entry you wrote; it resonated so much with me, being an opinionated and out-spoken Mexicana, that I cried as I read it. I never got a chance to read your blog while it was up, but I just want you to know that, even without your wonderful blog, you are still an inspiration. It’s similar to missing an wonderfull event, but nonetheless being inspired by all those who attended, even though I might feel a little left out. anyway, I feel for you and am sending you many loving thoughts!
